I guess I just need another outer wilds to come along and revive my love for gaming. Maybe the switch 2 will have some games that blow me away like outer wilds and Celeste did

I would appreciate this game a lot more if I had more patience, which I just don’t anymore. Getting the game at launch means having nobody in my circles to offer guidance, hints, or suggestions. And between animal well and blue prince, I fear my love of the genre is dying out :(

And then you get to Blue Prince. It’s a phenomenal game, there’s so much it does right, but there’s just too damn much to do.

Puzzles get a tad cryptic alarmingly fast, the layers overlap a whole ton, and once you get past a certain point, the game becomes a mess

ANIMAL WELL is much more cryptic, but is a smaller, densely packed experience that one can reasonably work through with some level of assistance/guidance/hints. I struggled with late game but there wasn’t really as much to it.

TUNIC is similar, in that it’s a complete experience. You might not come across every secret when playing through (and discovering some secrets is a tad cryptic) but it’s reasonable to, with some guidance, fully complete the game

Everything I love about Outer Wilds can be boiled down to how it’s a complete experience. To get to the end, you need to experience the game in its entirety to figure out how to beat it. Same with its DLC

I wanted to badly to love this game. And I still kinda do. But the puzzles are designed in a way where you need immense patience and an unreasonable level of intelligence to decipher anything. Early game is fine but late game is unreasonable.

I only just got a certain permanent upgrade (which costs 400 coins) and that hopefully has some additional info

Banger game, but the rabbit hole is so so so deep. It’s kinda hard to get guidance without somehow getting spoiled, and idk how the average player could reasonably figure out all of this bs on their own…

I’ve got one year of college left, I’m ready to finish things off strong!!!!
