the Bad Update exploit, DaTArrest, FreeMyXe, XeUnshackle, are all free pieces of software that are freely available to download and easy to copy to any USB stick.

if you have paid money for them, you have been scammed!

a new update has been released to the Bad Update hypervisor exploit that massively improves reliability and exploit times, taking less than a minute and with an estimated 60-80% success rate

Pandora is/was by far the easiest way to connect to Xbins, which legitimately hosts downloads for a lot of 360 homebrew too, like Dashlaunch, xeBuild, FreeStyleDash 3, NXE2GOD, Mupen64, Snes360, etc

this kind of abuse of DMCAs is concerning for the health of not just OG Xbox, but 360 modding too

MakeMHz has issued a DMCA takedown against Pandora, an automated way of accessing Xbins. Xbins is a repository of homebrew apps, games, and BIOSes for the Original Xbox that has been around for many, many years. Xbins still exists, but Pandora is now unavailable to download or be developed publicly.

This agreement helps build trust, it allows anyone to check the code and make sure it's safe, even if the distributed binary is not the same.

It also helps if a game update releases and mods are no longer compatible, it'd allow anyone to send patches so they can work again.

Open-source your mods!

Updates will never improve success rate.

There are a few AI generated "edits" to the BadUpdate exploit going around. These do not improve exploit stability- and one of them that I've seen actually makes the exploit *never run successfully*.

Please don't use these. At best you'll just be wasting your time.

as always; you can upgrade to a new FreeMyXe build by just running the default.xex again, you don't have to reboot and run the exploit again

FreeMyXe beta5 has been released, with an addition that way more homebrew should work *without* needing to be "patched" beforehand.

(Nerd info: XEX files made with the devkit key will now load, which most homebrew apps are. *Not* dev builds of games.)

the biggest difference between the 360 and these two consoles is that it has games.

but also, the PlayStation 4 has sleep mode as a feature, it has a whole second CPU for it

the PlayStation 3 phat/slim (not superslim) models have a very weak boot process, enabling CFW

the Xbox 360 has neither!!
