I will say that I do make *very* good use of the Hugo House discount at Third Place Books and Elliot Bay Books. It's a good discount at some very good businesses. Even aside from that, the Hugo House discount on their own classes more than makes up the cost of membership.

Opened an MtG jumpstart booster the other day, and all of the cards were really badly miscut, including a defective [[Dark Confidant]]. I'm guessing they're worthless in a monetary sense, but I will absolutely be using the broken Swamp cards as basic lands in decks to the extent that such is legal.

That's not even "it's OK to act in counterproductive ways," or "counterproductive feelings are good," it's "hey, here's a way humans aren't perfect, let's make sure that political advocacy is robust to that imperfection and stop pretending you can just willpower that fluke of human emotions away."
