I'm slowly running out of CANDLE IN THE TOMB seasons to watch.
Almost done with season 6, waiting now for season 7 (which should've been released by now – you just HAVE to love Chinese censorship :) ) and trying to find the sequel series with English subs.

I'm almost done with season 2 of CANDLE IN THE TOMB, called THE WEASEL GRAVE, which is a prequel set in the 60s.
I see more and more parallels to THE LOST TOMB (and take back everything I said about the main character, he's at least as crazy as Wu Xie), and I can't stop thinking about a crossover...

I'm almost done with season 2 of CANDLE IN THE TOMB, called THE WEASEL GRAVE, which is a prequel set in the 60s.
I see more and more parallels to THE LOST TOMB (and take back everything I said about the main character, he's at least as crazy as Wu Xie), and I can't stop thinking about a crossover...

I came for Zeng Shunxi and stayed for the smart and adorable female lead, the complex family dynamics and the depiction of the daily life and struggles of an actually poor farming family.
This is a really good drama, I honestly didn't expect this.

Oh, and I also started watching ROMANCE ON THE FARM.
I came for Zeng Shunxi and stayed for the smart and adorable female lead, the complex family dynamics and the depiction of the daily life and struggles of an actually poor farming family.

I also started watching the CANDLE IN THE TOMB drama series, after I read that the books this is based on (GHOST BLOWS OUT THE LIGHT) was released a year before DMBJ, and that DMBJ started out as fanfiction of GHOST BLOWS OUT THE LIGHT.

I also started watching the CANDLE IN THE TOMB drama series, after I read that the books this is based on (GHOST BLOWS OUT THE LIGHT) was released a year before DMBJ, and that DMBJ started out as fanfiction of GHOST BLOWS OUT THE LIGHT.

I watched TIGER AND CRANE.
And I have a lot of different feelings about this drama. Not all of them are good.
There were good bits and there were bad bits and then there were very bad bits (the ending, good lord).
I kinda wish I had skipped this one.

A few updates:
I watched TIGER AND CRANE.
And I have a lot of different feelings about this drama. Not all of them are good.

All the actors playing Zhang Qiling have been super pretty so far (I don't doubt it's a requirement for the role), but Xiao Yuliang is really on a whole other level. I wish he'd star in another one of these, he's SO good.

I've seen THE YIN-YANG MASTER: DREAM OF ETERNITY at least 7 times by now and I still don't get bored. I love the relationship between Qingming and Boya so much and I love the sets, the aesthetics & the soundtrack.

I've seen THE YIN-YANG MASTER: DREAM OF ETERNITY at least 7 times by now and I still don't get bored. I love the relationship between Qingming and Boya so much and I love the sets, the aesthetics & the soundtrack.

While rewatching the THE UNTAMED spin-off movie FATAL JOURNEY today, I couldn't stop thinking about Wu Xie either going back in time, or finding the Nie's family grave centuries later and trying to figure out what the fuck had happened there and why those weird people have been burying swords.

I finally watched the first episode of OH NO! HERE COMES TROUBLE, my first Taiwanese drama.
The atmosphere is COMPLETELY different from what I'm used to so far. That first episode alone made me cry several times.
The acting is really fantastic and I have absolutely no idea what will happen next.

I finally watched the first episode of OH NO! HERE COMES TROUBLE, my first Taiwanese drama.
The atmosphere is COMPLETELY different from what I'm used to so far. That first episode alone made me cry several times.

Jing Yanjun, who plays Wu Xie in the new DMBJ movie CONJURING CURSE also plays one of the main antagonists in I AM NOBODY.
He's excellent as Lü Liang and I've got to admit, it made me appreciate him more as Wu Xie as well (I really hope there will be more movies with him in that role).

On one hand I'm really fucking sad that I'm done with all the DMBJ related shows and haven't given up hope yet that TIBETAN SEA FLOWER will actually be released this year.
On the other hand I'm looking forward to binge-watching I AM NOBODY. I've only seen the first two episodes so far and LOVED it.

It's still hard to believe it took me less than 3 months (!) to finish all the dramas and most of the movies connected to the DMBJ universe, starting with THE MYSTIC NINE in early July.

I'm watching the second one of the REUNION movies now and god, I just love Ji Chen as Hei Yanjing.

I might do a rewatch of the first 3.5 seasons (and only of those, nothing can make me watch THE MYSTIC NINE ever again, sorry) at some later time, but for now I'll be watching all the sequels that have been released so far, hoping that TIBETAN SEA FLOWER will be coming out this year as well.
