Truly the best and worst part of Monster Hunter is learning some new tech or mechanic 150 hours in, thinking SURELY now you know everything there is to know and then repeating the cycle every other 100 hours LOL

I didn't realize until like 50 hunts later with hammer is you can hold the button on the offset attack to time it better. Once I learned that, doing offsets became so much easier on hammer, I'm excited for the next update since this weapon is already so fun!
