Def not sure how /why the numbers vary so widely (unless maybe they've done a lot of 'em already) but one source states:

"209 affected aircraft at AA..

..expect most aircraft will be updated tonight with only a handful remaining tomorrow."

Hearing approximately 60 planes at AA will need new ELACs and the rest will be software updates which can be done in just a few hours

But the 60–
Don’t imagine they have that many ELACs around

Seeing some airbuses already out of service. Looking like they’re scheduled for 5 hours out of service for the update. So far only see two out for “ELAC SW UPDATE”
