Did you know Daredevil's blindness was inspired by Stan Lee's desire to explore challenges? His creator, Bill Everett, drew from his daughter’s experiences. 🦸‍♂️💪 The blind community embraced Daredevil as a hero! Check it out: #Daredevil #Marvel youtube.com/shorts/OK1s_...
Who Decided that #Daredevil would have THIS Feature? #marvel #comic #comichistory #marvelcomics
So, who decided that Marvel hero Daredevil, would be blind? Created by Stan Lee & Bill Everett, Daredevil began life as Matthew Murdock, who, after an accident left him blind, found that is also increased is other senses exponentially, allowing him to deliver his own brand of justice on the streets of New York as Daredevil. Everett's own daughter, Wendy, was legally blind and he found her remaining senses strong and finely tuned. Her experience is widely referenced as a personal influence on the exaggerated sensory abilities Daredevil later displayed. In an interview collected on ManWithoutFear.com Stan Lee explicitly talked about Daredevil’s blindness as a defining handicap he wanted to explore as part of the character’s identity. "Daredevil was very important to me because he was the first superhero I created who had the serious physical handicap of blindness. It was a challenge to me to find ways for Matt Murdock to overcome his handicap and actually function as a credible superhero." Lee and Everett both worried their depiction would anger the blind community, however the opposite occurred, they embraced Daredevil as one of their own.

LEARN All About #WonderMan - Out on Disney + Today! #marvel #comichistory #disneyplus #comics
To celebrate the release of Wonder Man out on Disney+ today lets take a look at how this series deviates from its comic origins, first the show does lean heavily into the Hollywood Era of Wonder Man, a period of time when Simon Williams was pulling double duty as a member of The West Coast Avengers while also playing Hollywood stuntman. In the series Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays actor Simon Williams, who seeks out the part of Wonder Man, which is a revival of a classic superhero movie. In the comic, Williams gains his powers after supervillain Baron Zemo uses ionic energy to alter Williams' DNA, the show will seemingly portray Williams gaining his powers after an on-set accident. The film also stars Ben Kingsley, who is returning as Trevor Slattery, one time fake Mandarin and foil to Iron Man in Iron Man III. You can catch all 8 episodes of Wonder Man on Disney Plus today.

What are the TOP 5 Alex Ross COVERS of all Time?! #AlexRoss #marvel #comic #comics #dccomics
To celebrate Alex Ross' birthday lets look at his top 5 best covers of all time. Number 5 is 'Marvel: All‑New, All‑Different Avengers #8', this cover is frequently cited in ranking lists as one of Ross’s best Marvel pieces — the Avengers with masks off dropping into a pile is both visually powerful and narratively evocative of the theme of identity and legacy that the story played with. Coming in at number 4 is 'Secret Wars #9' from 2015, Ross is often cited for his complex composition and handling of a massive cast, here we have classic heroic vs. villain juxtaposition with dramatic lighting. Coming in 3rd place is Kingdom Come, not technically a comic book, this cover is one of the most iconic and career‑defining images for Ross, encapsulating his realistic, almost painterly take on DC icons. Number 2 has got to be his variant cover for Batman: Harley Quinn #1 made for DC. This variant has become one of the most recognizable of Ross’s DC covers, blending his realism with the characters’ crazy charisma. Its status is boosted by long‑standing fan favorites and nostalgia — often specifically cited among top Alex Ross pieces in DC lists. Finally the number one, best Alex Ross cover of all time is 'Superman: Peace on Earth', this cover has exceptional significance — it represents the art on a beloved, award‑winning graphic novel and showcases Ross at his most iconic: a powerful, almost classical depiction of Superman. This story won Eisner and other awards, and Ross himself was honored as Best Cover Artist partly based on this era of work.

Who decided Wonder Man's eyes would glow red? Created by Heck & Kirby in '64, his look evolved over time. Doused in Ionic radiation, his cells glow deep ruby red. Was it Milgrom who chose the red? 🤔 #WonderMan #Marvel #Comics youtube.com/shorts/37hUN...
HOW Did #WonderMan get THAT Look? #marvel #comichistory #comic #marvelcomics #comics #avengers
So, who decided Wonder Man's eyes would glow red? His look was originally created by Don Heck and Jack Kirby in 1964 as a foil for The Avengers, Wonder Man was created by Baron Zemo but eventually fought against him and joined The Avengers. Unfortunately, without access to an antidote regularly provided by Zemo, Wonder Man seemingly passed away. It was later discovered his brain patterns were saved and were the basis for the brain patterns of The Vision. After some time his physical body did return as did his conscience and memories. Traditionally always seen with red googles or glasses, 1986's West Coast Avengers Volume 2 number 12, pencilled by Al Milgrom, was the first time his face was fully exposed. Simon Williams was doused by Ionic radiation as part of a plot by Zemo to destroy The Avengers by creating a nearly indestructible supervillain. As a result his cells are infused with this energy, so much so that his eyes glow a deep ruby red at all times. So who chose red? Most likely Heck & Kirby, but the red eyes in particular may have been an idea by Milgrom.

BEFOLD The Might of FORBUSH-MAN! #Forbushman #marvel #comichistory #comic #marvelcomics #comics
Think you know your comic characters? What about Forbush-Man? Created by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby Forbush-Man, better know as Irving Forbush, was introduced in Marvel's short-lived satirical comic book 'Snafu' from 1955 as a mascot. He made his first full appearance as Forbush-Man in Marvel's "Not Brand Echh" #1 in 1967, this other satiric comic by Marvel parodied its own superhero stories as well as those of other comics publishers. Forbush-Man is the ultimate parody hero — with many superhero tropes and wears red long johns with a big “F” on the chest and a cooking pot with eyeholes on his head. Though powerless at first he did later gain abilities in the early 21st century, he was able to project vivid nightmarish visions onto people. He was last seen in "Captain America: Who Won’t Wield the Shield" #1 from 2010.

January 15th 2021 was the release date for WandaVision on Disney+, focusing on The Scarlet Witch and Vision, the series' first few episodes reflected typical TV sitcom tropes of the 50s to the 90s, with an overarching mystery thrown in. The series was praised for its unique approach and generally considered one of the better Marvel TV series from that period. While WandaVision was not based on one single comic book story, it drew inspiration and elements from several Marvel comics including The Vision from 2015, House of M from 2005, Avengers: Disassembled from 2004, the 70s and 80s comic series 'Vision and the Scarlet Witch' and Vision Quest; A West Coast Avengers storyline written by John Byrne where Vision is dismantled and rebuilt, which loosely parallels aspects of the TV story’s connection between the Hex Vision and White Vision.

In JLD #22, John Constantine and Zatanna's relationship deepens during a battle with the Justice League. Trust and tension rise as Zatanna grapples with her feelings for Constantine. 🔮✨ #JusticeLeagueDark #JohnConstantine #Zatanna #ComicBookLove youtube.com/shorts/GGkEe...
Spill That #Tea - #Constantine & #Zatanna are a thing, right? #comics #dccomics #justiceleaguedark
In Justice League Dark 22, John Constantine and Zatanna initially on opposite sides; when Wonder Woman tracks down JLD and demands help, they are confronted by members of the Justice League and the Justice League of America, Zatanna was initially in the former group, working alongside Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. During the ensuing battle, when Constantine squirrels Shazam away to parts unknown, she joins her magical counterparts in JLD stating “...its a safe bet that when John Constantine wants you to do something, you do the opposite” so what are the origins of this complex relationship between these two? They met in mid-80’s issues of Hellblazer, their interactions were largely professional, often teaming up for magical crises, but there were hints of flirtation and trust. By the late 80’s it was fully established that Zatanna was one of the few people Constantine genuinely trusts. 1999’s Hellblazer #161 and subsequent issues explore a near-romantic encounter, with Zatanna wary of Constantine’s self-destructive tendencies. In Paul Dini’s Zatanna #11 & #12 from 2010 there is a scene where Zatanna almost confronts her feelings for him but walks away, leaving the relationship unresolved. The New 52 storyline largely downplayed their romantic history to focus on professional interactions.
