The really cool thing is that this happens all over Japan (as far as I could tell) at the same time. I’d been in other parts of the country and heard it at the appointed time.

this little house staffed by neighborhood aunties for children that had games and activities. At 6p, the air raid sirens played this pleasant little tune that let the kids know that it was time to go home. All of this was pleasantly boring; no big deal was made of it because it was just how it was.
