Wunderground uses measurements from local, privately owned, weather stations. Crowdsourcing. It says 30°

I found the ride quality on Sydney’s Metro trains to be appallingly rough, especially the North West end of the line.

China’s Caojiawan metro station comes to mind.

Yeah, the boat and port thing has us all collectively nodding in disbelief.

To someone’s credit, they did manage to build a bridge in less than 3 years, adjacent to the state’s most heavily trafficked highway, in a difficult riverine environment.

Imagine how much better the quality of life, health and wellbeing would be for the residents of Melbourne’s burgeoning western and northern suburbs, if a network of high capacity public transport had been planned and built BEFORE the last 2 decades of piecemeal property development.

The nearest comparable build was Perth Stadium, 60k seat capacity, 3 yrs to build. Granted, Perth didn’t have site constraints, and had easy access to a local construction industry and workforce. But 3 years should be ample for a 25k seat stadium.

How the lifespan, cost efficiency, and people moving utility of a dual carriage cross-city right-of-way, when it is allocated for the exclusive and prioritised use of public transport (bus, light rail, or heavy rail), are orders of magnitude better than if it is allocated to use by motor vehicles.

On many parts of the Paris Metro, trains are so frequent and stops so closely spaced, you can stand on the platform and looking one way, see the train that just departed stopping at the next station, and looking the other way, see the next train departing the preceding station.

In that case, Spotify has swapped out the thighs version from the album and replaced it with the skies version.
