HOW DOES HE KNOW THAT!?” Bottom left is Doppio with Metallica’s scissors and the eyes of King Crimson in his shadow like a puddle. Middle is Doppio leaning over with one of Diavolo’s eyes (I call that Solido mode when they are sharing the body ex: during phone calls) above that, is him listening to Diavolo’s orders in complete confusion as he holds Metallica’s knives. “Yeah, I apologize because most of that grumpiness are from me. It’s my fault.” Ledisi apologizes “I get its, I accept it because I was already upset from the rain.. so we’re grumpy together. I just like it when you talk to me like this.. not yell at me.” Ru says timidly and Ledisi stares shocked at how mature this first grader can be. “THE ACCOUNTABILITY!! Man I’m definitely learning from you not the other way around!! AHH!! I love you!” She cheers ruffling their braids and Ru giggles out “Salma!” Nani then pulls Ru away from the adults while Ru tells them “Ok, Nani and I have a plan for Lee’s notebook. It’s happening at lunch tomorrow “ leaving Koana and Ledisi alone. Koana cracks a ice pack loudly in the awkward silence Ledisi begins to ramble to her about letting them inside, how she’s not used to having a key or being in a neighborhood, to which Koana puts her hand on her shoulder. Giving Ledisi her first non-boxing-related touch in years. “While I’d love to know why the champion didn’t just break in a window.. I’m just happy you knew you had somewhere to go.” She smiles. “I see where Nani gets her congenial perspective from. You’re really a sweet mom.” Ledisi starts. “All she cares about was my interest, likes and dislikes, she’s so caring. I gotta take a page out of your book.” “I’m… my interpersonal skills aren’t the best currently. I noticed it spread over pretty quick” she said referring to how Ru is sort of a loner already and has a tight expression. “Seeing them together gives me hope for our future..” she sighs and Koana hands her the ice pack “The kids are the future indeed! I love that you feel hope from them! Here for your eye.” “My ‘being a sweet mom’ book is still unfinished and has many printing errors. I’m still learning. You’re doing a wonderful job yourself Ms. Drastic climate” “You got me in your house and don’t know my name!? (That’s my fault but) I’m Ledisi!” She says panicking to which Koana grins and giggles, now literally lovestruck. “I’m Koana” The two are chatting, Ledisi telling whatever stories while smiling and shining, and Koana smiles from the couch thinking “The energy is brighter than what I dreamed of”

20 minutes later the girl lead them to her home where she shouts. “Here!” “She’s right.” Ledisi thinks “odd she lives so close” from behind Koana can be seen running up the block. “NANI!” She yells out of breath and her soft face scrunched up in annoyance, and Nani the little girl smiles “Oh hi my Ma!” “Hi dear— we talked about this? So no creeps take you away!” “Ma! she’s just scary not creepy!” They discuss, the words creep and scary hitting Ledisi literally. “Oh.. scary” Koana says quietly recognizing Ledisi to which she responds with “Yeah, no.” (Nani waves at ledisi’s kid) Koana looks away flustered “I thank you for taking her home though. I hope she didn’t cause any trouble.” “Woah what you mean trouble?” Ledisi asks “Besides the title, your little ball of energy was no problem at all. With the aura she has, I think good things lead her to where she needs to be” she says as Nani smiles up at her while hugging her mother. “Also, turns out we live around the corner. Bye Nani!” Ledisi says as her and her kid wave and turn the corner. Koana and Nani wave as well before Koana twirls her around asking “how did you do that!? (Have ledisi converse)” to which Nani replies “MAGIC” Then one day.. it rained. Ledisi and her child “Ru” are outside their home, drenched in rain as Ru is holding her Drastic Climate sweater above their head to stay dry. Ledisi has a black eye from a previous match. Ledisi is droning for a long time in thought about their circumstances while Ru tried to talk to her. “This is far from ok.. this kid gets petulant in the rain.. I can’t keep us out her—(Salma…its cold…) (Salma…?) “…getting sick will make things worse and I can’t break in… that’ll cause a leak (Why are we standing here?) “Then the locksmith is closed—(Salma, I’m wet…) Where could we go— (Salma it—) She turns angrily “ I ALREADY TOLD YOU! WE. ARE. LOCKED. OUT. I don’t HAVE THE KEY!! WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO HUH?!” She screams while gesturing to the door . Ru stares with wide eyes, shocked by her tone before narrowing their eyes and turning away just like her. “JUST GIVE ME ROOM TO THINK OK!?” She snaps as she thinks with her hands in her head. Her intense concentration turning the rain around only her to snow. Making it quieter and easier to think. “Come!” She says pulling them out of their yard down the block. Then they’re seen in a peephole of another’s home. “Please.. please let me do this one thing with no hesitation.. let me put my trust in you.” She prays in her mind as Koana opens up her front door confused. “I was definitely kind of rude when we first met… now I’m bringing our damp gloomy mood into your home… that’s filled with unfiltered love and beautiful warmth..” she continues in thought as Koana calls for Nani who is estatic to see the guests and brings them towels. “My kid deserves the warmth and love… me..? I’m not so sure.” Ledisi thinks sadly as she reaches for Ru. “Hey kid… Ya got a word for me?” She asks crouching down. “Grumpy, gloomy, and confused.” They blurted out. “3? Damn— D-Darn, why is that?” Ledisi sputtered “Well.. you yelled at me, and I’m wet and cold.” They confessed grumpily looking away.

“The Boxing champion of my generation, shining where she reigns supreme.” Koana monologues as she watches the masked boxer prop her leg on the reigns. “Unfortunately said place is sweaty and Rambuctious, I still don’t know how I got here! It smells rancid!” Koana thinks amongst the sweaty loud crowd of people cheering, exchanging bets and eating. “In all honesty it might have been the energy that brought me in… Yes that’s what I’ll tell myself right?” “It wasn’t that quick break in the cool composure… showing her true self to the crowd… no… “ the masked boxer grins as she shows off her medal, a type of nonchalant exterior to her. “Maybe I was just entranced by someone… someone so… So Cool!” She admits literally star struck “Still as one not satisfied with fantasies… I was shocked when reality came crashing down” she thinks. Watching the same woman dressed in a sweater, holding a child’s hand who was waving to her own daughter frantically. “Crushing the dreams like ants” There’s a pause as the daughter waves back to the other kids before Koana screams “Ohh! You’re Drastic Climate!” —“ I knew a mask wasn’t enough” The boxer thinks— She sighs “Come on kid let’s g—“ “Wait! “ the kid interrupts “I know her from school! She’s very kind to me and Lee! Can I please play with her for a little bit? Just a lil?” They plead “Wait! They’re all looking at me!?” Ledisi, the boxer thinks before standing there silently for a whole panel, thinking before admitting “Fine?” To which the children scream “YAY” “It’s just too hot to be entertaining a fan though” she thinks as Koana stares at her. As the kids play to see who will be “It”, Koana and Ledisi sit off to the side bench with the bookbags, Ledisi obviously uncomfortable by the heat, and Koana nervous. “Oh My! Oh My! I don’t even know her name! How do I talk to her!” Koana drones in thought. So she turns, “in your last match, why did you—“ But Ledisi intervenes “Ok, no— I appreciate you being a fan and all but I’m not in the ring now. So that topic doesn’t interest me. “ Koana is confused with literal question marks above her head as she faces forward “A boxer not interested in boxing? Well outside of when it matters.. I don’t think she’s all that open to talking right now either…” she thinks sadly. Later that week, Ledisi and her kid are standing having chit chat when a voice screams “HEY!” The same girl the kid played with at the park runs up to them screamin “Hi!!!” “It’s you!” The kid says “It’s men we can walk home together!” The girl says. “Ok!” Ledisi turns confused. “Is she not a first grader? Where is the parent!? Wait… I know her??… it doesn’t matter! I’m not taking anyone’s kid!” Ledisi argued in her mind. “Well I apologize girlie but I don’t know your address or your parent—“ The girl cuts her off. “I see you go home a lot! I live one straight away from ya’ll right!” She says and Ledisi stares with an eyebrow raised.
