Hot take: Now that we have the React Compiler, hook rules should be enforced at the compiler level.

I've seen too many codebases just ignore them. I've seen hooks used conditionally, missing deps in arrays, or no eslint-plugin-react-hooks at all. This stuff should be unskippable

Am I the only one who thinks it’s sad when authors or leaders behind popular dev tools publicly trash each other’s work? Feels childish. Luckily, most engineers aren’t even aware of these leaders' posts or even who they are. Most engineers are just busy building and shipping products.

Does anyone work at Stripe or know a recruiter there? I’m really interested in a front-end engineering role focused on design systems that I’ve applied for, and I want to make sure my application gets to the right place. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's done. Now it’s your turn, Oracle.

We’ve submitted a formal petition to cancel the JavaScript trademark: it is generic, Oracle has abandoned it, and Oracle committed fraud on the USPTO during the last trademark renewal.

It's time to #FreeJavaScript.

Deno v. Oracle: Canceling the JavaScript Trademark
Oracle is holding the JavaScript trademark hostage, and we’re pursuing legal means to #FreeJavaScript. Here’s a brief update.

I believe we've unfairly demonized `==`. When the types match, `==` acts just like `===`. With TypeScript ensuring type safety, using `==` can be perfectly fine.

The spec lays this out explicitly:

it’s crazy that the concept of unstyled component libraries is relatively a recent thing. how come this brilliant idea took so long to surface?!
