You could do the same with Peter from Family Guy. He is very chaotic, but if he acted crazy without any lead up, it wouldn’t be funny. There needs to be a build up of tension for him to test the limits to and that’s where the humor comes from.

Thank you very much! That’s what I strive for. I always want to stretch the rubber band of satirizing a character as far as I can without the band snapping. It’s like, you can’t play with a toy without accepting how far the joints can rotate, right? You need to work within the range.
