The craziest thing about the tech oligarch takeover is the realization that almost no one needs to use any of their products.

Remember when Caesar matched on Rome and immediately seized the Treasury?

Just something I was thinking about.

It was all a distraction, now no one is particularly upset about the 10% on China(if that stands) and the news cycle mostly missed Elmo's dick in the Treasury.

This is basically all happening because there were women ghostbusters.

Prices on numerous things will raise today, regardless of the specifics of the tarriffs, and well before any economic effects could possibly have made it down the the consumer level.

Who would take a buyout from Trump, notorious for not paying his bills and debts?

Federal workers with no choice but resign as the return-to-work order threatens their job.

This is probably because the return-to-work work order is going to get held up in litigation as it violates some contracts.

That Trump is messing with the "happy productive workers" drug is a clear indication of his administration's incompetence. You don't just fuck with the soma.

Something I haven't seen is anyone pointing out that the trump EO about gender is tautological.

(a) “Sex” shall refer to an individual’s immutable biological classification as either male or female. “Sex” is not a synonym for and does not include the concept of “gender identity.”
January 23, 2025 at 3:18 PM
In an odd turn of events Trump has demonstrated that gender is a social construct by attempting to construct gender but using sloppy parameters.

It's obvious now, with the cryptocoin and the pardon of Ross Ulbricht, that Trump's goal is to rebuild (or just build) as much wealth as he can as quickly as he can.

Is his goal to be the richest person in the world? Probably. Should Elon be worried? Also probably.

"Somehow Palpatine returned" suddenly prescient.

Today is Biden's last chance to do something really funny.

Dumb reason to do it but I kinda respect the energy.

I think it's most likely that the inauguration was moved inside for security reasons. There's been two attempts already, and after the reaction to Luigi I don't think the SS, or Trump, are keen on being out in the open.

How does my local grocery stores carry so many brands of Toothpaste? How many do variations do we need? How can we possibly need an entire aisle of multi-vitamins? This doesn't seem like the most efficient distribution of resources to me. Seriously, how many versions of cheez-it are required?

I'm convinced the glut of choices for consumer products is a ploy by marketing teams to foster brand loyalty. I like the toothbrush I chose because I'm the one that chose it. It doesn't matter that it's merely bristles on a stick, I've decided I like the one with gum ticklers and a blue stripe.
