Holy shit, the world's been struck with a very unnecessary loss, especially in these times. I enjoyed all of games he had developed. Call of Duty, Titanfall and now Battlefield 6. I didn't even know him but he deserves all the respect for shaping games and childhoods for many.

RIP Vince Zampella.

Oh boy I sure have thought that I'm gonna finish the new mod by the end of the last month, oh boy I was so wrong. I'm too busy with many things to focus on modding. Setting the new initial deadline until the end of January of next year. Since it is Christmas, well, Merry Christmas 🎄

New upcoming feature for the HUD... the name of the new HUD is yet to be determined.

This is all I have that is certain for now.
The new project will focus more than ever on "apparent" and "brand new" additions while the more vanilla project will be mostly non-apparent with minimal to none brand new additions. Vanilla one will focus more on adding things that are a bare necessity while the new one will try to reinvent stuff.
This repo will be repurposed to be used for making optimizations to the actual live vanilla default HUD which will have no alterations aside from actual optimization and fixes, without premeditated alterations. I'm not sure if this'll be renamed but the current files'll be forked into the new repo.

So what I can initially say is that dimhud has served me as a learning ground for greater things to come with room for experimentation, allowing me to develop my own ideas to make them happen. Now I'm evolving this project beyond just making it the "polished default".

I faced a dilemma. If I want to develop my TF2 HUD more creatively than before, I can't just keep it "default". I'll share my plans in detail for dimhud later. I can only tell you right now this HUD will no longer be called dimhud. Keep yourself posted.

With the upcoming version 5 of the dimhud, I also decided to redesign class selection menu. This design is not final yet as I need to fix how keyboard labels appear as since when they appear is broken. This is the ideal representation of the idea I had in my mind for now.

And this is what it looks like with minimal mode HUD enabled. This is the best redesign I came up with.

I updated Thermal Thruster's UI design by making it more in line with all other item effect meters and is now made to accomodate space properly utilizing three-segment meters' placements. I had to separate charge meter from the jetpack icon. This also fixes the overlap with the Power-Up Canteen UI.

Just revisiting TF2 after months of my absence. I think I made a flawed design for the HUD element.

Friday this week, you should expect a new mod to arrive. In the meantime, I'll just say that if you want to play a game which is a refreshing experience and is not related to Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead 2, go play Back 4 Blood that you probably grabbed on sale. It's very replayable.
