The last game I ever bought during the 90s Toys R Us layout was Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the psx at the end of 1998. Had no idea it would be the last time I would be taking a ticket up to that window on the way out. Just a few months later and everything was different.

The 2600 was the first I played regularly, but it was more of a thing to do in the downtime before shows or when we couldn't go outside to play.
The NES in 1988 was the one that flipped the switch for me. I remember spending (not wasting) time with friends playing the NES instead of playing outside
