Growing tall trees providing shade to cocoa plantations 🍫, like banana, palm and timber trees, could sequester millions of tonnes of carbon in west Africa, without reducing production, a new study found.

Interestingly, the report finds that the average # of undernourished people fell worldwide by 15 million people in 2024, compared to the previous year. However, progress has been uneven. In Africa, hunger continues to rise.
