I have the RGC SCART and it worked well except for Skies of Arcadia where it had an awful blur to it. It may have just been because the firmware was a couple of years out of date though. I couldn't find any settings to make it look better.
I use RGC cables for all my consoles, would recommend.

I am also of the opinion that the PS1 version is near enough a perfect game and refuse to play the remakes.
