All set up for my grandson tomorrow, with all the things he is fascinated with. He loves water so much, especially pouring and only with a glass jug. "More it please" when he wants me to fill the jug up. He's far too busy pouring to do the filling.

That's good to here. On another note Jacob would do well in the Tudor times! My hotel for the evening, I have a meeting tomorrow and off to bed. You take care 💜

Well, it took 2.5 years to get a diagnosis and then almost 2 years for me to finally receive written confirmation. I am one of the lucky ones as wait times have increased and stigma is more so now than ever before, with all these 'experts' in the media. Live a day in my life, 1 day.

In this commentary, we describe how language used to communicate about autism within much of autism research can reflect and perpetuate ableist ideologies (i.e., beliefs and practices that discriminate against people with disabilities), whether or not researchers intend to have such effects.

Your view is supported by empirical evidence...

"the least preferred—and most offensive—language: the specific person-first formulation of “person with autism” or “person with autism spectrum disorder/condition” (Bury et al. 2020; Kapp et al. 2013; Kenny et al. 2016)."

PhD life - bedtime reading

🥱 (a yawn, I'm so incredibly tired)

Draw the Dyer next and apply your water colours. Maybe next week when the inspection is over and done with.

Tomorrow (Thursday 21st December 2023) at 17:30 hrs (GMT) I am disappearing for a period of low arousal until Tuesday 9th January 2024 at 17:30 hours (GMT)

I just want to let folks know this so there is no worry about me disappearing from social media.

Here until 17:30 tomorrow. 🙂 (a smile)

British Summer Time ends

It's that time of year in the UK when time gets messed up and neurodivergent folks often end up all out of sync.

Be gentle with Autistic children, young people and adults. It might take a while to adjust to the change.

Do change time on all the clocks to help.
