😲 I always wondered what happened to American hero Charles Ramsey, who helped rescue 3 abducted women & girls in 2013. Glad he's alive and well!👏🏿💙 (see link in next post if not familiar).

Not at all — it's like the distance from Ottawa to Winnipeg (not an exact distance comparison, but you get the idea). The epicenter was somewhere off the Pacific coast of the area shown on Google Maps, so it's nowhere near us in Hiroshima. I read that dozens of people there were injured.🙏🏿

Hahaha reminds me of this meme from several years ago. I showed it to several Japanese friends without telling them that it was English, and they all had trouble at first but eventually realized the trick. Funny how our brains work😆

Thanks! Unfortunately this year's Labor Thanksgiving Day didn't fall on the same day as US Thanksgiving Day, but there are still plenty of "Black Friday" promotions here too😂

I thought I was going crazy or having dizzy spells for a minute... felt our condo moving a bit, but there was no local earthquake warning. Turns out a pretty strong quake hit the Kumamoto area (about 400km / 248mi from Hiroshima).

But I'm not sure that's completely true. Android applies a color filter on *some apps, but others require developers to enable dark-mode or "themed icons". In the folder below, several of my apps are still default.
I agree that many might prefer the ability to apply dark-mode to apps individually.

Btw you can also play around with icon colors. The second from left gives true dark-mode icons regardless of colorful wallpaper.

Android (Pixel) has it too, but it's under "Wallpaper Settings". Access by touching/holding any open space on the home screen. Select "Wallpaper & Style", then "Dark Theme". Any installed apps with dark-mode icons enabled will change. *NOTE: On Android, the icon color adjusts to blend with wallpaper

I'm sure they'd love to repeal MLK Day, but Hegseth already banned heritage months for DOD. I used to love awareness campaigns/events, especially ethnic cuisine for Black History, AAPI Heritage, Hispanic Heritage etc. featured at on-post restaurants/mess halls.

I know his convictions came after these appointments, but there's something seriously wrong with our justice system when judges appointed by Trump later granted him king-like immunity, continue to rule in his favor on illegal executive actions, and presided over/dismissed his classified docs trial.🤬
