can't say i loved akumetsu but i found it to be a very interesting read. an overtly political work, it provides a perspective on the pessimism that was prevalent in japanese society after the economic stagnation of the 1990s (which arguably extends to today).

the last question reminded me of a time when i would consume pop physics content on youtube and start having existential crises, pondering about the fate of the universe and the purpose of our transient existence. i read this a couple years ago and i think i like it even more upon rereading it

i've tried numerous times to finish half-life and only this year have i finished it. great game with great level design and great combat encounters, although i was getting burnt out by the end. it didn't help that xen was easily the worst part of the game

bloodborne's atmosphere is easily the best part about it. it just so happens that its combat and level design are also excellent. i played this game for the first time in 2025 and it has already cemented itself as one of my favorite games of all time

i think most people would agree that solo leveling is heavily carried by its art. story? i guess there's one. character development? jinwoo instantly becomes a hardass after a short timeskip in the beginning. jinwoo vs ant king was hype as shit in the anime tho so i guess it's all fine

i read all volumes of the eminence in shadow and LOVED it. it's the type of trashy media that knows what it is and embraces it fully. i've read tons and tons of OP protagonist isekai with harem garbage and not a single one of them is remotely as entertaining as this

i saw kendrick lamar and SZA for their grand national tour in seattle. absolutely incredible experience. every performer gave it their all and the atmosphere and vibes were immaculate. it was cold and raining for much of the concert but that honestly gave it aura

killer7 is an experience unlike any other. obviously the story and writing are off-the-wall, but the gameplay is also unlike any other game ever made. this isn't a "haha random" type game either; everything has a purpose. how so? well, i can't really explain. you just gotta play it to find out

i've read four volumes of hakomari so far and while i think it's alright and the concept is pretty great, the dialogue is so goofy at times that it detracts from the experience IMO. kazuki also annoys me on how spineless he is (typical ln protag) and how much he has to rely on maria

i thought taxi driver was very good! i know people who think the first hour or so of the movie is boring, but i think the whole idea is that travis intentionally exposes himself to what he considers the dregs of society. reminds me of how people nowadays are obsessed with doomscrolling
