My aunt and uncle “spatchcock” their Thanksgiving turkey, and it comes out fantastic (and also a lot faster than the traditional method). Only downside is that there's no stuffing involved, so you gotta make that separately.

A lot of the reason for that skill loss on my end is specifically the overwhelming spam, SEO hijinks, and ad shenanigans — as is evident by that skill carrying over just fine to alternative search engines like DDG and Kagi.

I was curious about that, too. Usually if the lightbulb's threads are glowing then something has gone horribly, horribly wrong.

I for one welcome Bot-tan as our new robotic overlord.

Okay but what if we added a second identical slit?

It's wild that you'd bring up someone who not only continued to own slaves until he died, but outright fathered children with at least one of them (and kept those children as slaves!), instead of Founders like Adams and Franklin and Hamilton who did no such thing.

At least with Steam you can copy the game's files to your heart's content. In the unlikely event that Valve goes belly-up, your games are still there.

The bad news is that a lot of them (but not all!) need to run alongside a working Steam client (or something pretending to be one, I suppose).

On the other hand, maybe they don't want to risk him doing it again if they refuse?

Why can't they just have an “assume the customer is competent” mode to skip all the bullshit and bagging checks and all that and just let me scan my items? Probably something to do with “loss prevention” or marketing or whatever other example of capitalism making the world actively worse.

Meanwhile every grocery store's self-checkout throws all sorts of fits if I don't put things in the bagging area (I ain't putting a fucking 30 pack of toilet paper in a goddamn bag you stupid fucking computer), inexplicably drops scans if they happen too fast, and other pointless annoyances.
