I'm not letting anyone off the hook, just analyzing data and postulating an explanation. Everyone who voted for Trump is to blame along Left leaning people who couldn't vote for Harris for whatever high-minded reason - but that is a different discussion.

I'm just looking at the data, not blaming anyone. The same percentage, not necessarily total numbers, of whites votes for Trump in 2020 and 2024. The percentages for other demographics increased for Trump. The why is up for debate

Interestingly enough, the TLDR; for that data is that it was Black, Hispanic, and Asian people that put Trump in office, from a % of voters from those demographics and difference from 2020 and 2024.

IIRC it was 90-some% black women that voted for Harris but a shockingly low % of black men. Thus the misogyny.

Where is the "I agree with you, but that is so damn sad", button? Doesn't feel right to ♥️ that post ☹️

I think the point is that there are so many men, regardless of race, that don't respect women, regardless of race. The one good thing that has come of this is that the mask of civility has been pulled aside from those who were wearing it. We now see who some people really are.

To your point, every time I get a wedding invite to "Mr. And Mrs. $male_first_name $male_last_name" it infuriates me. The father giving the bride to the groom at the ceremony states clearly that she is property. So much of human culture still revolves around this concept.

This begs the question as to why so many women support him and the MAGA movement.
January 15, 2026 at 1:47 PM
That was the only explanation I could come up with to explain the black male vote for Trump.
January 15, 2026 at 1:25 PM
Very good point.

For certain, it is racist, but it goes deeper and without a complete understanding there is no way to turn MAGA from their current path.
January 15, 2026 at 4:29 AM
There is some nuance that is not obvious. The root of MAGA devotion is economic struggle and the perception of loss of social status. That made it easy for someone like Trump, or Hitler, to blame the malaise on the "other". MAGA sees ICE's abuse of minorities as retribution for their own suffering.

A "reckoning" is NOT a forgone conclusion. These types of posts are very dangerous as they just foster more complicity on the Left. "Oh, no need for ME to go (protest, vote, etc.) this will surely fix itself". This is why we have Trump, Brexit, etc. SMH

Not a snowball's chance in hell.

If we had correctly ended the Civil War there would never have been a MAGA movement. Trump is simply the ugly splotch which indicates the cancer that we left to slowly grow in the US after the war.

Been there for a vacay in 2018 and LOVED it. This would be permanent but as you say I have a lot of homework to do before execution of this plan. TY for the offer to help🙏

Funny that you are from Ireland. That is exactly where I am thinking about heading to soon

Yes, on the evening he won the election of 2016 I distinctly remember thinking, "It's all over, now". :(

It was over on Jan 7 2021 when Trump got away with an attempt coup
