Riot (the kitsune) and Aurali (the drachenmaus) are having a discussion about Aurali's future when she bumps into a mask display, knocking it over!

The mask shines with an unholy power, possessing the foxdoll and warping it into his own original body - and he bears such a striking resemblance to Riot! The two women argue but it seems he has something to say.

Riot tries to force him out of her house but he refuses, calling her by her actual name! He generates a mask in his hand and slams it onto Shihoka's face while Aurali watches because what else are you gonna do in that situation?

The mask claws at Shihoka's psyche, breaking down her confidence and scorching away her soul, all the while Kouei mocks and belittles her. Her fur turns soot-black and she begins agreeing with him in a meek voice. She's become the first Cursefox, which is Kouei's version of a minion (compare to Shihoka's own foxdolls).

I drew a ton this morning and last night. My favorite draws I can't share because they're rough drafts of more full pieces, but I also did a few speed draws!
A bit of curse mask fun (idea courtesy of @yesthisisran.puppytrained.click ) and some rough OC designing because I was in a mean girl mood.

An anthro umbreon girl sneering behind a camera shes holding while taunting someone offscreen. "Fucking loser! Smile for your socials~!' She jeers.

"I will not face myself," says unhinged kitsune lord. "I will make myself worse."

Shihoka removes the mask, showing her new ruined state. Kouei approes of this change but oh, how could he forget the woman who freed him? A gift is prepared and Kouei tasks Shihoka with thanking Aurali properly.

Aurali has the mask affixed to her shoulder and now it's the second verse same as the first. Her soul is scorched hollow, all the things that made her special and unique drift away like ash scattered by the breeze. Kouei approves of these changes, but it seems like Aurali's not having a great time.

Later on, Kouei is enjoying his newfound freedom while his loyal devoted and not-at-all-terrified Cursefoxes service his needs both mundane and erotic.

No one but he is happy with these events.

A lesser-talked-about upside to being chained to your past via severe trauma is you have a pretty encyclopedic knowledge of what was cool and trendy at the time so you can always reference them and impress your friends!

A comic com for Yokai! It's nice to be able to write an escape fantasy instead of staring at one and feeling hollow and hurt by it.

There are first some opening shots of a casino that uses the patrons' sense of self as betting material. A dragon walks in and sits down to get the owner's attention. Instead of agreeing to her games, he surprises her by saying he only wants to lose, to rid himself of the crushing burden of his life.

She tells him that he cannot come in here just to lose as that's basically suicide, but she will offer him a deal instead.

Madame Yokai offers the dragon 4 hours with her finest girls in exchange for his soul, to at least let him go out on a positive note. She enters the boudoir expecting to find him post-coitus or even drained by her thralls but instead finds him in their outfit, playing nice and petting the foxes.

The dragon expresses regret now since he'd finally found a few hours of peace but Yokai refuses to let him go. She holds onto him and bites down hard into his shoulder, drawing blood.

With blood rapidly leaving him, Ranciel voices confusion as to why she did not go for his neck, but loses consciousness anyway while expressing how now that he's so close to death, he didn't want to go after all.

He wakes up some time later just in time for Yokai to pull his soul out with her lantern, calcifying his face as a mask that she slips off to reveal a vixen underneath.

The new fox is confused as to why she still has her memories and self-awareness. Yokai explains to her that she didn't want to die as much as she wanted a new beginning and a place to belong. She reiterates how one cannot just come to her parlor with the intent of losing.

Yokai offers Ranciel a chance to join her family and help work in the parlor. Ranciel questions if she's allowed to seek happiness like that, but eventually she agrees with tears running down her face, ready to start her new life under Yokai's employ.

The opening shots repeat, except instead of a dragon there's a fox in his place.

Ranciel stands at a table ready to take on patrons' gambling desires, a smile on her face signifying how she's thriving in this new environment. Her mask sits on a shelf, along with a sign reading "NOT FOR PUBLIC USE" since she was allowed to keep it and thus her identity did not become parlor property.

The comic ends.
