They're going door to door now, according to Vance. If you see an ICE agent, do not approach them. Call 911, if you need to. Do not engage with them in any way.

What they're saying about Venezuela: "Democrats are defending a drug-dealing communist."

Maybe that has something to do with my education. And the fact I was trained in actual skills, like thinking, rather than bullshit like "prompting."

As someone who has never once "practiced" my AI prompting skills, I find it perfectly easy enough to get results when I have to use a search engine (although it's definitely less efficient than older search engines) and I have never struggled with determining whether I was being lied to by AI.

Meanwhile, they want to act like Gen AI "prompting" is the only skill you'll ever need. People need to be taught to get the results they want! And they need to be taught AI is a fallible machine!

For fucking real, AI bros want to actively deskill the labor force by declaring actually valuable professions redundant thanks to AI. Thinks like Nursing, Physical Therapy, Counseling, and software QA. Things that are basically necessary for a functioning society.

And then you have companies like Larian defending Gen AI. I understand the short-term expenses saved. But I have to sincerely ask: if you really thought about it, do you actually believe it is both cheaper, and better, to use (shitty hallucinating stolen) Gen AI over developing your own software?

I get the whole "AA means lower budget" thing... but you have game studios famous for building their own engines every new iteration (say what you want about Rockstar or Square Enix, they know how to hit where it counts when they really mean to.)

On the other hand, you can build smaller and more well-tailored LLMs that will also probably work more effectively for whatever your purpose is. Preferably also without the stolen data and gallons of drinking water. That is called software development.

On the one hand, you can use enormous amounts of stolen data (and an ungodly amount of power) to build hallucinating machines that will tell people to go **** themselves. That is called Gen AI.

There is the "tool", LLMs, and then there is "Gen AI", which is a very specific implementation of that tool.
