With extra bellies to feed this week, I made 4 venison pot pies out of a roast. Made meatball sandwiches, then used the leftover balls in a spaghetti casserole. I roasted a chicken in the crockto make tacos. I baked sweet rolls and today it was pop tarts. Can only do so much and still go to work.

I am not athletic. I'm over 50. Today, I climbed to the top of the Buffalo Peak on Antelope Island, sweating, and telling myself, "I can do this." If I could do that, I can keep fighting for my rights to vote, to collectively bargain, and to be heard. I know I am not alone.

The Utah landscape is beautiful. The people here are wonderful. I've talked for three days straight to gather signatures for the HB 267 referendum. The working people deserve better than their current legislation. #workersunite

Taking the path to my dad's this morning to deliver maple syrup for his pancakes and fill his bird feeder, I could easily pretend I was walking in Narnia to Mr. Tumnus' house. The story is just as magical to me at 53 as it was at 8.

Enjoying a last family Christmas present with my husband and sons. While I miss their excitement when they would open trains and other toys, I cherish the time spent with our adult sons.

Nothing brightens the day faster than a 4 yr old nephew calling to say, "Good morning!" as grampa drives him to preschool. Suddenly the day feels joyful from the chirping of a baby bird.

Mom came home from a trip with a cold. She's resting on the couch so she doesn't keep Dad up with her coughing. I'm a GOOD nurse. If she falls asleep, I boop her nose to make sure she's alive. I occasionally bite a toe or take her chapstick. I spilled her water twice & shredded her Kleenex.

I wish I was the delicate lady-type when sick with a head cold. Instead, I stumble into the bathroom to discover I resemble the Heat Miser...my hair stands on end and the bags underneath my eyes are carrying their own purses. Even the cat is avoiding me; is Vick's to a cat like garlic to a vampire?

Trust and faith...riding with my son on the interstate & NOT using my passenger side "fake brake" because I don't want to be my mother even with rightful rider's anxiety. I close my eyes and pray the cold medicine keeps my ears from popping as we climb into the mountains. #makingmemoriesnotregrets
