Basis trade helping to absorb the huge amounts of short-term treasuries? IORB to prevent inflation/reckless loan behavior from banks due to QE liquidity, and then SRF (standing repo) to make sure there's always cash to handle those big short term flows? Avoid rates spiking… 🧐 I can barely follow.

Interesting read! Not to complicate this already fairly cerebral article but I'd say there's also a continuous feedback loop between "The enculturated economic actor", institutional structures and an economic model. So they're being shaped together through time. Looking forward to the new book.
