I watch Down & Out in Beverly Hills for first time in years. I forgot they had a daughter. Played by Tracy Nelson, from the famous Nelson family. Why does she look familiar? She played George’s Jerry look alike gf, but that’s not it.

My cousin Marlanda “Coco” Vann was senseless murdered driving through South Memphis Saturday night. Her daughters were with her and witnessed. There have been no arrests for this heinous act.

Now this connection blew my mind and told me how I didn’t know enough about Ike. It forced me to dive deeper into his catalog beyond the Stax music I knew.
I also met Carl Thomas years later and asked about sample. He was drunk and didn’t do a good job of speaking on it. But I did get a pic.
