Storm Amy brought the drama to Hardraw Force this weekend - it never fails to impress after heavy rain. England’s tallest single-drop waterfall was in full roar - a 100-foot cascade thundering into Hardraw Beck below.

At 694 metres (2,277 feet) Pen-y-Ghent is 1 of the 10 highest peaks in Yorkshire. The name is believed to originate from the Cumbric language (similar to Welsh). Pen-y-Ghent likely means “Hill on the Border”—pen meaning "head" or "top", and ghent possibly meaning "edge" or "border"

We're sharing a bit of Monday motivation that you can both see and hear... although you'll have to imagine the sound (if you know, you know!) 🤔

📍 Fore Gill Gate | #MondayMotivation #YorkshireDales
A narrow, winding country road curves through rolling green hills under an overcast grey sky. The landscape is dotted with patches of grass and stone walls that follow the contours of the hills. A small white bridge crosses a shallow stream near the middle of the scene, and a single black-and-white road marker stands beside the pavement. The road appears quiet and rural, surrounded by open countryside with a sense of calm and isolation

Built in 1399 by Richard le Scrope, Lord Chancellor to Richard II, Bolton Castle was designed not just as a fortress but as a family home. Despite the Civil War damage, the castle remains one of the best-preserved in England.

The castle sits at the edge of a small village with stone houses and farm buildings scattered nearby. The rolling green fields around the village are divided by hedgerows and stone walls, with patches of woodland displaying orange, yellow, and brown autumn foliage.
