On the one hand I agree, @ezralevin.bsky.social, but on the other, it's sort of a warped flip side of, for example, Trump choosing to decide Paramount+ gets to buy WBD just because he wants Ellison to get it. Not the same, of course, but too close for me to like it.

...She says without any irony. Too bad she missed out on the opportunity to enforce that on Jan 6, 2021.

Can you please post this in as many places as possible? EVERYONE needs to see it.

I've RSVP'd twice, the first time hours ago, and have yet to get the link. Yes, I've checked spam folder, etc.

Dec 7 was infamous because of betrayal - attacked even while peace talks underway. Not "hate Japan." Jan 6 infamous bc schemers and schemer-in-chief convinced citizens to overthrow their own gov't with lies. I hate the schemers.

I was kind of hoping an FDR-esque person would pick up on the idea.

December 7, 1941 was declared a "Day that shall live in infamy" by FDR - a day the US was attacked from without by a foreign enemy. I declare that JANUARY 6, 2021 is a day that shall live in infamy - a day the US was attacked from within by a DOMESTIC enemy.

Wow, I am sorry that I'm doing such a bad job of getting my message across. The point isn't holding them to account now - it's not. It's causing them to understand now that there is a credible path to holding them to account later. That may curb their worse impulses, which is what we want.

I'll respectfully disagree wrt justice not being an issue now. People with bad inclinations behave worse if they believe they will not be held to account as compared to how they would behave if they thought there might be a trial in their future. We WANT them to worry about that trial.

Insurrection Act would be another level.
Re Miller, Johnson, etc., we need them wondering whether there will be a price to pay for their behavior. They're counting on pardons to eliminate accountability, so we need to find another way so they can't assume they'll be fine.
December 27, 2025 at 2:42 AM
That's an interesting idea. Wonder if Miller's abject hate of non-white, non-Christian persons as evidenced by the inhumane treatment he has fostered through brute squads has violated international law.
December 27, 2025 at 2:38 AM
1) As the administration gets weaker, they'll do a "Hail Mary" (e.g., Insurrection Act on a pretense) to disrupt the midterms - we need to be prepared; 2) because Trump pardons everyone, we need Stephen Miller, etc to anticipate accountability through other means - states? If not, what else?

I would, but I've canceled my WaPo subscription because Bezos. Wasn't that the right thing to do?

Done. Canceled, removed app from everywhere.

I guess take these numbers as a win, but I'm shocked they aren't even more skewed: Republicans are ridiculing ‘No Kings.’ A striking new poll shows Americans aren’t laughing

New polling reinforces how much the thrust of the “No Kings” message has resonated with much of the American public.
