Wait till you look at Cy Young's and Joe DiMaggio's ballot records...
January 21, 2026 at 2:30 AM
I agree. This tells me that jumps next year will not be this accentuated. For no one.

I still think he has a small chance next year. But, very small.
January 19, 2026 at 6:53 PM
I'm figuring if he (Pettitte) gets to 63-65 in 2027, well, he'll make in 2028 but, who knows.
January 18, 2026 at 5:25 PM
I keep thinking the Committee(s) should have a year with, say, 30 inductees, to clear that 'catalog'. Not just pitchers, either.
January 18, 2026 at 12:01 PM
Both Felix and Pettitte will end the year at, or very close to, 50%

Pettitte only has two more years so, difficult but, doable.

Félix has eight more years to go.

2027 is still a very weak ballot and Beltrán, Andruw and Manny will no longer be there.
January 18, 2026 at 11:58 AM
If this happens, should we expect 435+ ballots in total?
January 15, 2026 at 6:27 PM
I go there for fun (if that's the correct word) and come here for (mostly) baseball.

"It's like twitter but, for baseball!"
January 7, 2026 at 9:20 PM
It has happened...just, don't want to jump the gun.

They both have lots of time, so, 2027,
2028, 2029, (2030?), (2031?) is fine by me.
January 7, 2026 at 9:17 PM
Didn't say that's not happening. But, I doubt Utley (or Félix) will jump 25+ points this year, and again 20+ next year.

I rather think he'll (Utley) be high 60s next year, and jump the rest in 2028.
January 7, 2026 at 8:09 PM
Utley. Don't see him jumping enough next year but, getting so close he could get there in 2028, regardless of Pujols and Yadi.
January 7, 2026 at 6:49 PM
Maybe not next year but, 2028?

Pettitte is gonna continue rising till the end. People are gonna cry when he stays out but, a stronger choice for when the committee comes.
January 7, 2026 at 4:29 PM
I'm thinking that Abreu will jump this year, a little more next year, and then plateau the two last ones. Had this happened one or two years ago, I'd be more hopeful.
January 2, 2026 at 11:57 AM
While it's still early (at ~25%), I have him projected at almost 78% because of the gains (7) and the new voters (16 out of 17).

This is the year.

Wait. Is Dom Amore an anagram for Adam Dore?

December 16, 2025 at 10:36 PM
Interesting that Canó only had 2 but, 5 times over .882
December 4, 2025 at 12:10 PM
I hope the same but, I have a feeling Hamels will grab some of those votes, so they don't jump that much
November 27, 2025 at 7:57 PM
His full name is Felipe Rojas Alou.

Few people outside of the Caribbean include the 'Rojas'.

Check his brothers in B-R.
January 22, 2025 at 3:49 PM
I agree. Have him at minus -3 at this point (180 ballots). This year's trend has been great fot him, but his history with private ballots is not very good.

The only real suspense this year...
January 20, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Agree. Keep seeing him staying out, but really, really close.

Close enough that next year's weak ballot will be easy for him. And Jones.
January 15, 2025 at 1:42 AM
Apart from Bonds, Clemens and Sheffield, who have PEDs related issues, Beltrán, Jones, Vizquel and Wagner, still on the ballot, got over 50%

And Schilling got to 70% twice
January 10, 2025 at 7:10 PM
Solid, non-PED ballot.
January 9, 2025 at 12:05 PM
Always thought of him as a HoFer on his personality alone.

His numbers helped, as well as all the publicity from playing for the Yankees (and the Indians of that era, too).
