the end result doesnt matter at all. seriously. ive been on deviantart in the aughts, ive seen the things people can come up with. but in some way they were motivated to make that art, and thats enough to make human-made art of any shape or size compelling as opposed to ai. nothing to do with skill

ive made stuff thats absolutely horrible before but like... even those works dont come out of a vacuum. you raised the infamous restauration of the jesus mural as an example of art that shouldnt have been made, but the point is that it was made. someone wanted to do it. thats the point of art tbh

idk i feel like you're reading in bad faith (nowhere was it mentioned that everyone is necessarily capable or willing to make 'good art') but that aside, i think youre misunderstanding the purpose of art.
