People who write about robots taking over the world never had to fix them for a living.
Yeah, there is this elitism that is off putting. A lot of ‘I had to learn about photography the hard way, so you should too.’ They are more in those type of forums to criticize the actual advice given versus actually having anything helpful to add.

Unfortunately I see a lot of camera forums also devolve into arguing over minor technical features and a lot of ‘do your own research’. In reality, pretty much every camera coming out these days is good. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

I have a Manfrotto 290 series that I’ve been happy with. Older model MT294A3 but still going strong after 10+ years with different heads attached. Use it when I don’t want to use heavier steal tripod.

OoT has a lot more weird DNA in common with Link’s Awakening then it lets on.

Most I’ve seen this year is around $50 off on the lower end UHD models and $100 off the higher end models(~20% off). Not nothing, but no huge deals.
Personally I’m sticking with my Xbox/PS5 for now, even with their limitations. TV only supports HDR10, so lack of Dolbyvision not dealbreaker yet.

Same with my HDTVs purchases. Even going with more premium models.

2006 - 32” 720p LCD ~$900
2010 - 40” FBL 1080p ~$1k
2017 - 65” LCD 4k HDR ~$1k

$1k today easily puts you into nice OLED screens

I go with the individual Rice Krispies treats along with a handful of basic candy. Snag a box of 60 from Costco. Kids are always jump at them.

Did the same at a convention back in the spring. Wanted a copy of the original N64 version and figured prices were just going to get worse.

Sounds like the Chicago tollway when I’m passing through.

I still go with IKEA for stuff like shelves but have recently gone with Slumberland, HOM furniture, and surprisingly Costco to replace old furniture.

I noticed most of the social media posts about it reference one of the articles written about the video but not the video itself. Guessing a lot of folks are reading the articles but not clicking through to the video.

I upgraded to a Canon MF641Cw a few years ago. Was about $200, individual color toners, still running good. Only cons: doesn’t have paper feeder for scanner like higher models and my Mac occasionally stops connecting over network. Have to remove and re-add printer every now and then.

I always get a heavy duty case for my iPhones. I’m too clumsy to go without one. I’ve gone with Lifeproof cases for several phones. Turns phone into a brick but phones immaculate underneath after 4+ years and the occasional accidental hip-check across the sidewalk.
