The interim government imposed a blockade on Kurdish neighborhoods in Aleppo. The neighborhood assembly declared that the interim government must hold accountable the groups that block roads and attack civilians. Rivana Rojava und Arîn Mîrkan - two women who felt martyr in the heroic battle of Kobane. With their stance they did not just repel ISIS militarily, but broke the jihadist mentality by showing the strength and determination of women. YPJ honored the two fighters with a military ceremony.

ISIS is taking advantage from the chaos in Syria. Since the now interim government took power on 08.12.2024 until 20.09.2025, ISIS has carried out 153 attacks on North and East Syria. Today, the SDF forces once again successfully repelled an attack. 5 SDF fighters felt martyr, one was wounded.

11 years ago,on September 15, 2014, ISIS attempted to invade Kobane with brutal force, but the will to resist embodied by the fighters of YPJ/ YPG turned the city into a global symbol of steadfastness and resistance. That resistance and the fight against ISIS continues until today.

In these days, when ISIS is regaining strength and YPJ and all other forces in NES are fighting tirelessly against it, we remember Şervîn Serdar, who was a vanguard in the fight against ISIS. On September 15, 2023, she and two of her comrades were murdered by the Turkish state.
