I think when it comes to normal policing, body cameras are a genuinely useful means of creating accountability.

But when it comes to DHS, the body cam footage of the shooting of Marimar Martinez in Chicago last year still has not been released! They don't work if nobody will actually punish agents.

Indeed, it’s the pre-war imperial playbook that Trump is using, and which European powers used before that in Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
In my view, repression at home and thuggery abroad - most recently Greenland - are two sides of the same coin. Both reflect the worldview of people who think violence, power, threat and coercion are all that's required to push your agenda through & secure your interests.

I have so much respect for Minnesotans who have stood as a bulwark against Noem- & Trump-enabled and ICE-inflicted cruelties against hardworking people.

The Trump DoJ approach seems to be to throw frivolous judicial appeals so as to gum up the wheels of the judicial system. It’s a form denial of service by throwing appeal upon appeal … ad nauseam.
