Super proud of this project! Big congratulations to the exceptional student I’ve had the pleasure of co-supervising from Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab and to my invaluable collaborators: Max Glockner, Preslav Nakov, and Iryna Gurevych.

MISSCI+ builds on MISSCI by grounding the fallacies of a misinformation claim in real-world passages from misrepresented studies. We show that fact-checking systems struggle to refute misinformation using real-world passages. And these passages can mislead LLMs into accepting false claims as true.

Happy to share that our follow-up work to our previous MISSCI paper, MISSCI+ (Grounding Fallacies Misrepresenting Scientific Publications in Evidence), has been accepted at the #NAACL2025 main conference!

I'm in Vancouver attending #NeurIPS2024 this week. Together with my colleagues from IBMResearch, we'll be presenting our paper "WikiContradict: A Benchmark for Evaluating LLMs on Real-World Knowledge Conflicts from Wikipedia" on Thursday 12th Dec, 11am - 2pm (Poster Session 3 East).

We value demonstrable experience with open-source projects, and the ability to collaborate effectively with researchers from diverse interdisciplinary backgrounds. Prior experience with relevant areas of NLP and ML, along with strong engineering skills, is highly desirable.

Our compensation package is competitive, with a gross salary aligned with market standards: €3,578.80 per month for PhD-level candidates, and ranging from €4,752.30 to €5,211.80 for junior and senior PostDocs, based on a 40-hour full-time contract (paid 14 times annually).
