I can see the vision, but if I'm failing and still trying, am I not moving forward with the discomfort anyway? And I don't play arcade mode in most games; I just play the base content and after, if I really like it, I go and play some arcade mode but I didn't get to become attached yet to do so

Just curious, why don't you allow a retry from the start? The main joy I get from rhythm games is failing a lot in the higher difficulties until I get good enough to pass. Since failing currently makes you skip and lose access to parts of the story, it made my experience quite frustrating on top

It's literally like learning to draw. You will suck ass until you don't, then you discover someone really good and learn that you just suck less than before but continues to do so because now you are in love with the thing
