#Kīlauea eruption visible on weather radar this morning… a significant fountaining event, likely the tallest of this eruptive phase of the volcano which began in December 2024.

Whelp, I was hoping Pele would give me a send off this mornin before having to take my flight back to HNL but, alas, it was not to be.
Still happy I got to see several overflow events & my first lava flows. I will be back one day!

Very visible differences around the vents of #Kīlauea’s Halemaʻumaʻu crater betw/ 0840h HST today, 30 Sep on the Left & 1411h ystrdy, 29 Sep on the Right, w/ the lava flow now a darker colour & deposits (prob sulphur) now more prominent.

Biggest flow so far at #Kīlauea… getting soo close. Very sort stops between lava flows/piston events. Big event hopefully coming soon!
