This is an important point and why appeasement is so idiotic. There's no amount of giving in or "accommodation" or "compromise" or debasement that is enough. Giving in just accelerates the rights consolidation of power and emboldens their worst desires

Fully agree, "sharrows" - a little bit of paint saying please don't kill me - is not a bike lane at all. And the real bike lanes are spotty, starting and then disappearing at random. Separate and protected is what makes this work

E-bikes also allow you to take a passenger, which is a game changer. When the weather is nice, I bike my daughter to/from school, and it's much better than sitting in traffic. The one issue is gaps in bike trails. Fixing choke points & making more real, protected bike trails would make this take off
