I think it's really helpful to deal with sketching in 2 phases. (each phase for solving a unique problem):
1) First phase = shape cuts + perspective structure (I used mouse for this)
2) second phase = actual sketching where I focus on details.

Tried the lasso-fill method for drawing that's been trending lately.
pros:
- fast and intuitive
- good for depth & overlap
- good practice for enabling memory drawing
- easier shape design
limitation:
- might need a gestural phase + CSI shape abstraction to avoid stiffness
