I like the slight changes made to Yoshi's design for the movie, but the eyes look... a little off. Why do they look like they are made out of plastic? It's a minor thing and I'm sure I'll get use to it, but it's just that one thing that has me raising an eyebrow.

Thoughts on the game after a little over an hour...
Yeah, it's fun. Incredibly basic, but I'm sure they'll improve on it over time just like with Heroes. The matches themselves are pretty fast, so it has that going for it. Matches normally take about a minute or two.

I'd be surprised if the character designer has never played Kirby Star Allies before, but they look a lot like the Three Mage Sisters from that game.
Not a criticism against the game, just something I noticed and it's kinda funny. Still real good designs!

I'd be surprised if the character designer has never played Kirby Star Allies before, but they look a lot like the Three Mage Sisters from that game.

Galaxy 2 ported to Switch, Galaxy 2 on Nintendo Music... Glad Nintendo finally remembered that this masterpiece of a game exists! I know it's to build up hype for the Mario Galaxy movie, but still! As somebody who grew up with Galaxy 2, I couldn't be happier!

Plus, this game has Joker. That means it wins by default over the bad $80 forced open world Mario Kart.

Well, looks like I'm gonna be getting a Switch 2 now. A new Fire Emblem game honestly made the Direct for me. Yes, this is essentially looking like Three Houses 2, but that isn't a bad thing. We are so back!

Fire Emblem Awakening was my first FE game, so this in Nintendo Music brings me immense joy. Way to start September with a bang!

I'm sure this is a cliche answer, but the eel from Jolly Roger Bay in Super Mario 64. When I was five and I first saw that thing when trying to enter the ship, I was so scared of that thing that I just would not enter that level. I'd just grab the Star from the chests and move on.

Why intentionally add games with weak soundtracks to your music app?
No offense to Sword/Shield enjoyers, I just straight up did not care for the OST in this game. Not bad, just very 'in one ear and out the other' for me.
Gym Leader and Marnie battle themes are good, tho.

The fact they chose to add Engage to Nintendo Music before Three Houses (or literally any other FE game) feels like a slap in the face.
None of the OST for Engage is technically 'bad' (except for that atrocious opening song), but it all feels so generic and stock.

That Mario Kart World Direct was probably the most pointless Direct in all of Nintendo history, which is really saying something.
No matter how you feel about the game, I think we all agree that it is not worth $80. Either get it bundled with the Switch 2 or buy it secondhand for cheaper.
