Are you running antiSMASH across many genomes? Check out multiSMASH, my simple wrapper that streamlines comparative BGC analyses by parallelizing antiSMASH runs and tabulating the results. Runs BiG-SCAPE too! WIP, so feedback and bug reports appreciated.

PS, thanks for asking!

Of course! Sharable and adaptable with credit. (To be specific, I've now applied the CC BY-SA license.) I'd enjoy hearing how it gets used.

Natural product researchers, do you first hear about conferences when your PI says "I'll be gone next week"?

Here's a list of upcoming events for those who work on secondary/specialized metabolites, along with their deadlines:

Thank you again to @marnixmedema.bsky.social and WUR
for a fantastic postdoc. I learned so much, and I'm happy that I can now properly call myself a bioinformatician. My work there will continue to trickle out, and I'm excited to collaborate with Marnix on future projects!

It's nice to be back at UCSB! Today I start an exciting new postdoc with @mixotrophe.bsky.social and @evoecodynamics.bsky.social, working on mathematical models for siderophore production. Is this part of some quest to explore every corner of metallophore research? Stay tuned to find out!

Definitely! When I visited, I was so clearly having a great time that they asked if I wanted to volunteer (and I would if I could).

Protip: Any environmental isolate is a "previously uncultivated" strain. Generate more buzz for your work by putting "uncultured bacterium" in your title. Follow me for more.
