Bonnet suggests that embarrassment over the killing of the two children led to a building up of the story of Morris' guilt.

Based on two pages in a novel by famous crime writer Auguste Le Breton, Les pègriots, 1973, which has 2 pages on Morris, Raymond Ruffin defamed Morris as La hyène de la Gestapo. Marie-Josèphe Bonnet debunked Ruffin's lies.

Of course, the classic example of de-transing was the 1965 film of James Clavel's King Rat, 1962, based on his own experiences in a Japanese POW camp. The book features a POW female impersonator, who was in the first script, but then removed by the studio suits.
