And so my two years as chair of @paastacommunity.bsky.social have officially come to an end. I'm unbelievably proud of what we have accomplished so far, and can't wait to see what the brilliant new steering committee will do! ❤️

And that's a wrap on Bone Diagenesis 2025! What a lovely conference, full of kind and brilliant scientists. Also the first time my talk has been so 🔥🔥🔥 it set off the fire alarm (I'm choosing to assume that was the reason) 😅

It's become tradition by now that I spend my birthday at a conference, this year at #BD2025 in Athens! I look forward to three days of fascinating talks - the programme looks absolutely incredible 😊

What an amazing time both @isba11.bsky.social and the @paastacommunity.bsky.social pre-ISBA conference last week were! Not entirely sure what I was doing here, but the rest of the time I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with old and new colleagues, listening to amazing science, and eating delicious food.

I very much enjoyed #SMBE2025 in Beijing - huge thanks to the organizers, and I look forward to seeing everyone in Copenhagen next year!

For the last couple of weeks, I've had the honor to join an excavation in Uzbekistan with @malgorzatakot.bsky.social through her @inasia-erc.bsky.social project. Two weeks full of joy. So many wonderful adventures, friendships and memories for life gained!

I wish the Contaminator, Tjorven, was still with us so he could celebrate with even more treats, but at least now his proteins will live on forever ❤️

Step 4: Buy the dog a reward for his contaminating duties. I did have to explain to him that he could not get the treats in this photo, as he had no teeth. He got some soft liver snacks instead.

My MSCA postdoctoral fellowship project PROMISE has officially started! I am very excited about all the cool science that will come from this project, and happy to keep working with the Welker Group at the Globe Institute for two more years.
