in retrospect hilarious that I attributed all of that to Keeso, a man who at least appears allergic to the concept of a club banger

that was when it truly hit me like, like OH right you're doing THAT thing. and you should, because it works every time

okay now I'm thinking about this and they are very different shows but at least arguably Letterkenny is also about the things masculinity makes so unspeakable that the only way to cope is put on the best song you know and let the body take over

hey! my publisher, 831 stories, is interested in helping out-- where should they contact you?

please give whatever you can, and if you want to volunteer, I'd love to have you join me! Being on the ground & in community is sometimes difficult but also often joyful and meaningful in a way nothing else is

this is a sidenote but I was just reading Caroline Palmer's WORKHORSE, a novel abt working at Vogue in its last glory days, and the main character is HORRIFIED when a digital editor posts stuff without making 100% sure it's right. editor is like, "if it's wrong we'll just change it. who cares?"
October 22, 2025 at 3:43 PM
it's not necessarily editors' faults-- they're wildly overworked and underpaid-- and in general everyone's trying to publish too much too quickly. which results in a lot of stuff that could be better on any number of levels!

chiming in to say your understanding is 100% correct. some agencies have started hiring in-house editors to make sure that books at least get some? attention?
