I believe the science is that these fake meat products are still much safer to eat than meat. Although the meat industry is putting a lot of money into reporting how dangerous they are. But I mean just because we don't eat meat, doesn't mean that we aren't allowed to have options.

Ha. Weirdly I've gotten into DJing and that community is quite similar! It's super friendly though for the most part, which is a bit of a rarity in these dark times!

I haven't been on it much. A lot of the journalists I follow seem to be starting one up. You still need the socials to push your substack though - unless it has its own social features?

There was a time I believed it would make the world a better place! There was a time it did. But it didn't last long! 🤷‍♂️

Ah yes I've seen her interviewed. Social media really has become a big problem. Just look at that march on Saturday! Social media and dark money is fueling the far right! The news agents podcast had an interview with Tim Berners-Lee and he said similar things - although he does use mastodon!

I did rejoin instagram though. The dog rescue centre we used, use it, so I joined to send them rescue dog pics 🤷‍♂️ I'm also on mastodon, but not very active.

Likewise. I joiined twitter initially to see if it would be useful to promote some of the businesses I work with. Then I stayed for the jokes. Then the politics. It's such a shame. It was such a powerful platform. Utterly ruined. I think social media is a blight on the world now.
