The “dual state” theory was invented to describe Nazis. The Supreme Court could take us there.

there are also Various Other Things including absolutely useless friends and major familial estrangement with my side of the family, while the other side is over the Atlantic anyway, which are making things trickier. And I am trying to delegate but not succeeding very well!

this is a constant struggle, made worse by the kind of inconsistency of income and situation that emerges from needing and wanting to run the business especially as its run, vs having a salaried PT job (whose total income would inevitably disappear into childcare)

Case in point here: Rudd had to resign because the Home Office was deliberately ignoring evidence of people’s right to live in Britain, so that they could deport them. The press sympathised with her because it was Theresa May’s fault but didn’t attack the PM, in case they accidentally toppled her.

like, it's been an hour long struggle to get one of two children dressed and now the youngest is flat out refusing any clothes so our plans to go out are just like.. well okay I guess we're staying in and I'm going to try and work instead???

I'm finding everything a lot right now at home with the kids and fuck all support except my already hugely overburdened partner and it's just... so fucking hard to find bandwidth to think, to attend, to witness, to acknowledge, to advocate, against a backdrop of this season of my kids childhood
