Was waiting to see if the Nuttall's Woodpecker would show up at the suet box (I could hear it nearby again) but instead I think I surprised this Orange-Crowned Warbler having breakfast. 😬

Got the doll made, photographed, and I've started organizing the files.

I still need to remove remaining greenscreen backdrops by-hand and do all the stop-motion rigging in Live2d Cubism. This'll be a for-purchase model, also including the actual doll.

For now enjoy the ambiguous mesh of photos. 🎎

The Lesser Goldfinch is both always around each morning for me, and extremely distant and avoidant. Finally gotten some good shots while backyard #birdwatching despite them typically looking down from the telephone wires. Despite being so small and common, their songs are complex and varied alot.

Some of the current backyard lineup. The other day in just about an hour and a half I saw a: Lincoln's Sparrow (new lifer!), California Towhee, Orange-Crowned Warbler, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Bewick's Wren, House Finch, Allen's Hummingbird, and Mourning Dove.

Really fun dynamic shot of a Say's Phoebe right after it took flight from having a staring contest with me this morning.

Some of the parrots moving in their flock this evening, primarily Red-Crowned Amazons. Noisy buggers but always a joy to stop and watch go by (and sometimes they'll stop by). 👀

Another bird I heard a LOT of while lake #birdwatching, but saw sitting still very rarely was the Savannah Sparrow. They were busy in the dry brush, keeping themselves often immersed in the thick of it. Tons of little moths and small insects to grab, all while covered and camouflaged. 👌

Further into rendering the angel VTuber model art. 👁️ Still some parts to do and some to re-do, but it's bearing that place where it feels closer to being finished and I can get to rigging it.

I like how this one is coming out, even if parts of it are a bit tricky. 🤔

Trying to do hands now but definitely gonna re-re-do the hand, stuff still messy all around but getting there. Need to also like.. give him an actual wrist. 😂 Kind of winging it a bit here.

Y'know, I had to respect what the Say's Phoebe was sayin'. ✋ No trespassing.

Funny moment when I reached the border of where people were allowed to go when #birdwatching at the lake, and the phoebe was there. (I stayed behind the signs.) One also flew onto the roof yesterday for a close-up shot. 👀

While out in the drier patch by the lake #birdwatching I spotted (twice) an American Kestral. 👌 Was kinda funny when I was coming back through photos to see the Kestral was looking *right at me* when it was flying by. Predator birds always gotta be on the lookout for competition and their next meal.

More smol birds from the lake #birdwatching: Least Sandpiper (I think!). First time getting GOOD photos of any pipers, as they're so tiny and skittish. Tons of these guys around the water's edge, happily camped out & watched them in the early hours. Funny when they're bobbing their bodies up & down.

Killdeer! Sorry.. I didn't kill any deer, that's just what these birds are named.. for whatever reason. Went #birdwatching at a new lake and finally saw these cute little buggers. Came across a small flock and got to spend a good amount of time watching them on the ground and them in-flight. 🙏

We have a young male Costa's Hummingbird that's joined the backyard feeders, and we're pretty sure it's the son of the female Costa's that typically guards our feeders relentlessly. The two don't seem to fight, so I can only imagine it's 'cuz they're related. Usually that female fights everyone. 😅

Lil' ol' Bewick's Wren has gotten more common here, I even see & hear them at the house. Hear them a lot more than I see them, though. Funny and jumpy little bugger looking anywhere for a bite to eat, even poking into the pinecones.

Sloppy practice to test style for painting-style angel VTuber model.

Need to obviously move some stuff around and make changes, but I wanted to try doing basically a 3-layer shading with flat colors to see how effective it would look on stuff.

Camera battery now dies after about 1-2mins of usage, even after being charged. Praying getting a replacement battery is the only fix needed, as the charger claims it goes to full charge almost instantly. Anyways enjoy the couple brief Snowy Egret pics I got at the lake before battery went kaput.

You'd be surprised! I started only 3 months or so ago just curious what was in our small yard in town and was pretty shocked at the variety. Then going to even a small park is an insane experience with how many new birds and sounds you hear when you're listening for them. Use Merlin for listening. ✌️

But have you considered resting your mind and birdwatching instead? Birds are pretty sick, you could also attempt making friends with a crow/raven instead and gain a large sum of cool & mysterious points by being able to say you're friends with a raven and they bring you trinkets for seeds.
