I've been wondering why we don't have a societal code/oath of ethics. Doctors swear on a varient of the Hippocratic oath. Maybe if at 16 everyone swore an oath, "to endeavour to do no harm to another person, by either action or inaction" it might help define what we expect of people in a society.
