I am not saying that I think this kind of action is necessary for the sake of the union, but anything bipartisan right now buys a little bit of favor for things that matter. Like a conversation about healthcare. Or Epstein.

I can't find any new act under this name introduced today. The one written in 2023 isn't unreasonable, and that's coming from a staunch atheist.

It basically just provides a framework for religious organizations to ask for federal protection if they report a threat.

Definitions seem broad.

If the only violence that is happening is one direction, it will too embarrassing even for Governers like Abbott to continue.

Remember, they still actually need us to vote next year. So many of the GOP reps will have to hit the campaign trail, outside the shelter of their DC offices.
