TBF I think they probably DO actually mean combos but fail to conceptually grasp what they're talking about.

This is 100% someone who hasn't bothered to learn /one/ combo and is upset that they have to win 10 times as many interactions because their opponents can at least convert into /something/

I thought the same thing. What do I care which cutscene is playing out after I got hit? And if it's always the same one, it's probably not optimal either.

Unironically, if I don't end up going this far for the bit, I WILL make a rival NPC team with this name and gimmick.

I fell of Octopath 1 because I hated combing through towns with path actions after completing their stories. Is that still a thing in 2 and 0?

Also not a fan of the feeling of wasted XP when not switching off maxed jobs (praise Metaphor!), but I can tolerate that.
